- proja (corn bread, best with KAJMAK)
- kajmak (salty cream we put on bread)
- pljeskavica (hamburger ancesor ;))
- cevapchici (minced meat fingers)
- prasetina (pork)
FAST FOOD
Mostly we eat in baker stores “pekara”. There you can find all types
of pies, burek, rolls, cakes, pizzas, sandwiches….
- note: our food is spicy and not so light ;-)
What to drink:
- rakija
- rakija
- rakija!!! (traditional drink; can be made of various types of
fruits – plum, pear, apricot, quince... and it goes up to 60 grades,
so be aware!)
- note: you can drink tap water, no need to buy
it in bottles!
Money
- official currency in Serbia is DINAR (1eur=80dinars); you can
change money in any exchange office, the rate is the same;
- you can pay only in dinars; always ask for bill!
Transportation:
- we don’t have metro in Belgrade , you can use bus, tram or trolley;
- night transportation begins after midnight and goes every hour;
buses change their routes;
- it’s common to use taxi here, it’s not so expensive (around
50 cents per km during the day; night rate is a bit higher);
Weather:
- Summers here are quite hot and sunny, so prepare your light
clothes, sun glasses…Sometimes, it rains, but….usually temperatures
reach 30-35.
