AEGEE Europe is one of the largest European student organizations,
which includes more than 250 Universities throughout Europe and over 20.000 students.
AEGEE is a nongovernmental and non-profit-making
student association, founded in 1985 with the aim to promote ideas of the united Europe -
and exactly through communication, cooperation and integration of students willing to actively
contribute to the openness and tolerance of the societies they live in.
AEGEE gathers students from 43 countries of Europe at numerous
conferences, seminars, exchanges, trainings, Summer Universities, etc.
By providing travels, exchanges and cooperation, AEGEE stimulates and
encourages mutual discussions, dialogues and organization of joint projects with the goals to overcome national, cultural and ethnic
differences.
Support to this organization has been given, among others, by: Mikhael Gorbatchev - winner of the Nobel
Prize for Peace, Vaclav Havel - the president of the Czech Republic, Jacques Santer - member of the European Parliament,
Georgy Konrad - the president of the German Academy of Arts, Bronislaw Geremek - the former Minister of Foreign Affairs in Poland...
During these last few years, AEGEE Europe has directed the most of their activities to the topics of: high education, international policy, relations between Eastern and Western Europe, development of a responsible civil society, cultural exchange and European integration, of course.
AEGEE Beograd became a part of the network of AEGEE Europe on 12 th of November 1995 at the scheduled assembly in Budapest.

- Project Summer Univesity
The central annual event within AEGEE Europe is the Summer University - (SU). This event takes place on the level of antennas once a year during the summer, and lasts for two to three weeks. The aims of this summer project are: getting to know the language, the culture, the customs, the life style, the history of certain countries. The SU represents the best way to make new friends and to travel throughout Europe. It takes place in over 90 European cities, which gives a wide choice to all who are interested. And the interest for the SU is huge. The following data witness this. Approximately 7.000 students apply for the Summer University at the level of all antennas-organizers every year, however, only about 2.000 lucky ones and the most motivated ones (selection of the participants is based on the enclosed motivation letters) manage to experience the magic of AEGEE
- Project Student Exchange
Conceived as an idea with the primary aim to make exchanges of students from all of Europe for socializing, active learning and, giving and receiving new ideas. AEGEE Beograd has initiated and participated a number of student exchanges.
- Events, seminars, conferences...
AEGEE Beograd has organized, some independently, and some in cooperation with other NGOs, many seminars and conferences as much educational as entertaining.
